Esta cuna feliz de tus abuelos,
si en edad muertos, vivos por memoria,
no consta sólo de caduca gloria,
afrenta en simétricos modelos.
Porque sus piedras dan envidia y celos

hechos tanto blasón, tanta victoria,
templos de Marte y de la fama cielos.
Presas banderas, príncipes vencidos,
rotos arneses, yelmos abollados,
mármoles son del tiempo no mordidos,
donde con sangre viven trasladados
reinos gloriosamente defendidos,
reinos gloriosamente conquistados.
