Fija luz, norte ya, cristiano Febo,
con glorioso esplendor nos da el Oriente;
dichosa cuna suya fue Occidente,
que dio el hesperio sol prodigio nuevo,

a cuyos rayos misterioso el Evo
debe ya la noticia reverente,
viendo violados en tu celo ardiente
los penetrales del profundo Erebo.

¡Cuántas almas al cabo destinadas
del común Padre del pastor celante,
a eterna fueron luz restituidas!

Fatigas, pues, por Dios, y en Dios logradas,
trompa sólo querúbica las cante,
que humana voz las dejará ofendidas.
