Luz del fuego feliz, cuyas centellas
hacen con su esplendor ilustre el suelo,
logra en su eterna esfera el alto vuelo,
pues gloria es tuya cuanto exhalan ellas.
Arderán con tu ejemplo, en honor de ellas,
Fe, Esperanza y Amor con igual celo,
donde al pie que descalzo admira el cielo
de conturno le sirven las estrellas.
La tersa cruz del fulminante acero
que el claro protector vibró de Hesperia
en castigo del bárbaro africano,
consorcio hará con el cordón severo
que al rigor penitente dio materia,
sangre que hoy fertiliza el reino hispano.
