Vuelvo a probar segunda vez, Fortuna,
efectos de tus iras, agraviados
con tristes experiencias, observados
los varios movimientos de la luna.

Despediré esperanzas una a una,
si ellas mal, sus avisos bien logrados,
cuando entre engaños ya desengañados,
ambicioso anhelar no me importuna.

Son, para mí, razón las sinrazones;
en mudo sufrimiento a veces leo
noticias que di al tiempo de mi daño.

Callaré quejas, beberé pasiones,
para que vez segunda mi deseo
no pise en el umbral del desengaño.
