Obediencia me lleva y no osadía,
tan igual al amor que la ha causado,
muriendo por volver donde he dejado
la parte que es más propia y menos mía.
No es de la voluntad la cobardía,
que peligrosamente el pecho osado
corta el inquieto mar de mi cuidado
con la luz de aspereza que la guía.
Y aunque en la noche de la ausencia oscura,
con osada esperanza busca puerto,
este nunca vencido pensamiento,
mi desdichada muerte me asegura
en peligroso escollo el golpe cierto,
pues olvido es el mar, mudanza el viento.
