Sacro Pastor, cuya vigilia alcanza
el virtual asunto soberano,
por quien Astrea confió a tu mano
el cándido nivel de su balanza;

freno a la culpa, al mérito esperanza,
y miedo pones al aplauso vano;
afecto de piedad, celo cristiano,
que el poder ajustó con la templanza.

Acrisoló de tu virtud el vuelo
el celante cuidado, cuya fama
es prenda en ti de dos eternas vidas;

que estos impulsos débiles del cielo,
avisos son, y voz con que te llama:
mas él te acuerda y tú, señor, no olvidas.
