¡Oh, ya de polo austral fecundo Atlante,
en cuyos hombros hoy el peso estriba
de caridad no muerta y de fe viva,
Argos de nuestra fe, pastor celante!
Cual a tu celo fue clima distante,
sol, pues, de luz, que eterna luz derriba,
dé mil al Indo plumas que la escriba
y trompas mil al Ganges que la cante.
Cuantas ya vieron ondas sus orillas
tantos por el diáfano elemento
querúbicos te aclamen plectros de oro;
sus altas plumas, altas maravillas
de feliz conduciendo vencimiento
al triunfo excelso de su excelso coro.
