Volved a ver, señora, este cautivo
al remo eternamente condenado,
por albedrío y voluntad forzado,
a pesar vuestro y aún al suyo, vivo.
Siendo agravios los más, ¿para qué sigo?
Amor sólo en la fe no me ha tentado,
que como a cosa vuestra ha reservado
de esta parte el tormento tan esquivo.
Con ella viviré seguramente
sin buscar a mis males otra cura,
porque ninguno de ellos la consiente.
Y visto que es mi mal desdicha pura,
la fe remediará todo accidente
en que no tenga parte la ventura.
