A regulados números su acento
reduce esta sirena, cuando
con las pulsadas cuerdas está dando
al arpa voz, al alma sentimiento.
Arco hace el amor de su instrumento,
y soberbio arpón de un mirar blando,
sol que, rayos de fuego articulando,
desvelo da al cuidado, sueño al viento.
Recuerde, pues, Amor, en la dormida
aura, y sus plumas incesables bata
al son de esta dulcísima armonía;
numerosas exequias de mi vida
serán si la piedad no lo dilata,
flechas con yerba de su melodía.
