Tú que con mancha ilustre en clara espada,
campeón de Cristo y de la patria fuiste,
cuando en bárbara sangre la teñiste,
de gente al rey y al cielo rebelada;

y de impulsos celantes tu fe armada
glorioso a Marte adverso te opusiste,
tal que en ambas fortunas conseguiste
próspera adversidad, gloria envidiada.

Cual con la espada, logra con la pluma
trofeos, y el aplauso de tu gloria
dé la virtud corona, el cielo palmas.

Sumo el honor, y la fatiga suma
en la segunda y no menor victoria
el cielo sólo premie triunfo de almas.
