Después que puse al pie dura cadena,
después que puse al cuello indigno yugo,
besé el cuchillo y adoré el verdugo
que a muerte y a paciencia me condena,
en esta oscuridad, en esta pena,
ciego así porque a ciegas deidad plugo,
ni descanso yo más, ni el llanto enjugo,
ni llego a percibir aura serena.
Antes parece que el rigor violento
de astros se declaró, sino ofendidos,
de sus efectos mismos indignados.
Que les parezca venenoso aliento
para martirizar a mis sentidos
el disponer precioso de los hados.
