Esta que sacra tórtola viuda
en seco tronco llora al muerto esposo,
y con rigor no menos poderoso
de sus natales plumas se desnuda,
cuya dulce garganta en llanto muda,
huérfano el cuello de su honor undoso,
¡oh sordo cielo!, ¡oh golpe riguroso
de accidente mortal de Parca cruda!,
dolor justo de agravio tempestivo
tiene en desdenes de inmutable hado,
en sombra al sol mas no de luz ajeno,
cuando el nuevo planeta vengativo
corta al que felizmente derribado
del reposo común se ve en el seno.
