Despertad con afflato doloroso,
tristes sospiros, la pesada lengua;
mío es el daño e vuestra la mengua
que yo assí viva jamás congojoso.

¿Por ventura será que habré reposo
cuando recontaren mis vejaciones
aquella a quien sus crueles prisiones
ligan mis fuerzas con perno amoroso?

¿Quieres que muera o viva languiendo,
e sea oculta mi grave dolencia,
la cual me gasta e va dirruyendo,

e sus langores non han resistencia?
¿De qué temedes?, ca yo non entiendo
morir callando sea grand sçiençia.
