¡Oh, santa soledad, esposa activa
del gusto, del descanso y del sosiego,
a ti las llaves de mi pecho entrego
porque en libertad en tu corte viva!
Me han dicho que el Amor tus gustos priva,
que acierta a ceñir armas, aunque ciego,
que tira flechas de amoroso fuego,
y a quien más se resiste, más cautiva.
Mientras tuviere ser, tú eres mi dueño.
Sirva al Amor quien ama en hora buena;
no he desobedecer a quien desdeño.
Con libertad en esta selva amena
libre del fiero Amor gozaré el sueño;
porque el amante, aún cuando duerme, pena.
