Muriendo en cruz, mi Dios, por culpa mía,
hicieron sentimiento los mortales;
las luces se eclipsaron celestiales,
montes estremeció la tierra fría.

Rasgóse el velo santo, y a porfía
se quebraron los duros pedernales;
sucedan en mí mismo estas señales
cuando yo muera en cruz antes del día.

Quebrántese la piedra de este pecho
a vuestro amor divino endurecida,
y mis ojos se eclipsen con el llanto.

Mi corazón se rasgue y ya deshecho,
estremézcase el alma al dar la vida,
temiendo el tribunal de Dios tan santo.
