Indicios claros de la luz, espías
del luminoso general del cielo,
cuyo valor ardiente, cuyo celo
años le rinde y le conquista días;

apacibles tiranos, que alegrías
dais y quitáis al más cortés desvelo;
deidad tonante, que fulmina hielo
sobre el volcán de las entrañas mías;

volved a mí, volved, aunque de fiero
basilisco seáis: vuestra hermosura
más que la vida en vuestra ausencia quiero,

si ya no sube a tanto mi ventura
que os puedo ¡oh cuán difícil! ver primero,
y es cada cual difunto y sepultura.
