Fresno siempre elevado, centinela
del ejército dulce de Pomona,
a quien si erguida crencha el sol corona,
cándida Naya, los coturnos cela.

Tú a tanto Ruiseñor antigua escuela
bien que frondoso afín, mi voz perdona;
que en tus lenguas el céfiro la entona,
porque a Deidad que ocultas veloz vuela.

Este ¡ay! tan sólo ten depositado,
y cuando al sol que adoro como sueles
vieres en tus alfombras recortado:

preséntale a la luz, y no desueles
por esto tu inquietud, que mi cuidado
copia en tan breve tiempo mil pinceles.
