- XVI - Fénix, Santelmo en el mar de amor

Si lucha con el casco el Euro fuerte,
los deshojados árboles desgaja,
arrebata el timón, las tablas raja,
nada perdona a que su furia acierte.
Teme el piloto la contraria suerte
y el marinero en partes mil trabaja,
porque en mil partes mira la mortaja
que el mar previene a su vecina muerte.
Pero si el Euro de los Celos llega
al instable bajel, mi pensamiento
no sólo en embestir no se acobarda,
mas el piloto Vista el temor niega,
descansa el marinero Entendimiento,
porque el Santelmo Fénix va en su guarda.
