- LXXXI - Ausencia de Fénix, sentida con razón
Florecilla si pierdes tus colores
por verte fuera de tu verde asiento;
donde gozabas el frescor del viento,
del agua la humedad, del sol calores.
Te falta la razón, que mis ardores,
a tu amarillo servirán de aumento;
en vez del aire gozarás mi aliento,
y del agua mis lágrimas mejores.
Mas si es porque mi Fénix se destierra
de las Indias del oro de su frente,
siente (cuán digno) disfavor tamaño,
que viendo así, que se disuelve en tierra
tu hermoso imperio, por estarle enfrente,
no llamará a mis lágrimas engaño.
