- LXVI -

Tirsis, la nave del cuidado Iolas,
hecha tablas, la vuelca el mar furioso;
cuerpo muerto y espíritu penoso
le traen fiera Leucipe y fieras olas.
Dio mil voces al cielo y escondiolas
crudo cielo en el manto tenebroso
de la callada noche; y el rabioso
Bóreas le apresuró la muerte a solas.
Salieron a la playa deseada
Lícidas y Damón, del mar echado;
oyéronle, mas no le socorrieron.
¡Ay, teme, Tirsis, la tormenta airada,
que en el lugar donde otros perecieron,
mal te pueden valer tus crudos hados!
