- XXIX -
Claras y transparentes luminarias
del cielo, y de la noche compañeras,
hijas del crudo tiempo y Parcas fieras,
por casos varios y por suertes varias.
Ya que de las amigas y contrarias
horas de mi contento lastimeras
testigo fuisteis, sedlo en las postreras
a mi cansada vida necesarias.
No me fuerce, mirad, el tiempo acaso
a pediros palabras quebrantadas:
pues sois fiadoras y testigo de ellas.
Dijo Damón, y de las luces bellas
del claro cielo, errante y fijadas,
resplandeció el Oriente y el Ocaso.
