- XXXVI -
Arrebató mi pensamiento altivo
una visión del cielo soberano,
y herido de un ardiente rayo humano,
huyó del fuego deshonrado y vivo.
El alma noble que sintió el motivo
del ya no altivo pensamiento vano,
parto bastardo de ánimo liviano,
llora que fue su pensamiento esquivo.
Y afrentada de un hecho semejante
en los ojos se pone de contino
para morir honrosamente firme,
cuando la causa de mi fe constante
no se precia mostrar rayo divino,
para sólo siquiera destruirme.
