La fatal influencia que recibo
del movimiento de las dos estrellas
al cielo más divinas y más bellas
al mundo que de Febo el rayo vivo;
la oscura nube del desdén altivo
impide que resulte ahora de ellas
bien a mi mal, alivio a mis querellas,
fin al dolor y fin al llanto esquivo.
Suspiro de continuo y, suspirando,
apenas disminuyo la cerrada
niebla que esconde mi divina lumbre.
Venus, si agravios mueven tu hijo blando,
asegura tu Reino y de pasada
haz que piden altivos gloria y cumbre.
