¿Tan áspero morir, vida, y dulzura?
¿Tan abierto llover, la paz serena?
¿Cómo llena de angustia, y de Dios llena?
¿Vencida, y palma? ¿Tímida, y segura?
¿Alba , y umbrosa? ¿Turbulenta, y pura?
¿Puerto de gracia, y tempestad de pena?
De vos se os parte el alma adonde adora,
¡toda sois, y que entera! del quebranto,
¡qué sola estáis, si estáis sin vos ahora!
Fuera de vos os tiene, dolor tanto,
¡qué seré yo sin vos, triste Señora,
si aun vos misma sin vos, sois toda llanto!
