- LIII -

Lejos Amintas de su fiel ganado,
toro viejo y fortísimo buscando,
por la espesura de la selva errando,
en la manada de Damón prendado,
bella cabra perdida, el enriscado
cerro paciendo, Cytiso mirando,
su cayado le tira, y, en llegando,
cayó mortal al florecido prado.
Halló dos cabritillos en la dura
concavidad del monte, diolos luego
a su Filis y de ella una comida;
y las armas, los pies, la vestidura
y el matador cayado, vuelto en fuego,
Pan, dejaron su planta enriquecida.
