- XXIX -
El hombre solo en tantos animales,
Leonardo, nació al llanto; él solo atado
es el día que nace, desarmado,
sin defensa ni pies contra los males.
Así empieza la vida: a los umbrales
de ella ofreciendo llanto anticipado,
no entonces por algún otro pecado
que el de nacer para miserias tales.
A él fue dada insaciable sed de vida;
el solo cuida de la sepultura,
y en su alma brama un mar de ansia y afeto,
por do algunos dijeron: «No es natura
madre, sino madrastra aborrecida».
Mira si error oíste más discreto.
