- XLIX - A San Isidro
Los campos de Madrid, Isidro santo,
donde estamparon ángeles las huellas,
sembrando vi de soles y de estrellas,
que alegres se inclinaron a su llanto.
Sus oraciones le encumbraron tanto,
que en éxtasis de amor brotó centellas,
y pudo la menor de todas ellas
ser del infierno confusión y espanto.
Al fin Isidro para el cielo oraba,
cuando araban los ángeles el suelo,
dando a su fe constante tal tributo.
Y tan perfecto Labrador estaba,
que vestido de luz cogió en el cielo,
sembrando aquí sus lágrimas el fruto.
