Cuando me trato más, menos me entiendo
hallo razones que perder conmigo,
lo que procuro más, más contradigo,
con porfiar y no ofender sirviendo.
La fe jamás con la esperanza ofendo,
desconfiado más, menos obligo,
el padecer no puede ser castigo,
pues sólo es padecer lo que pretendo.
De un agravio, señora, merecido,
siempre será remedio aquel tormento
que cuanto mayor es, más se procura.
Porque para morir agradecido,
basta de vos aquel conocimiento
con que nunca eche menos la ventura.
