Que no puede sufrir quien no confía
un castigado y no rendido intento,
donde luz de mejor conocimiento
mueve la voluntad, sus fines guía.
Es de la fe lisonja la osadía,
y la esperanza de la fe un aliento,
cuando constante en el mayor tormento
tiene amor por enmienda la porfía.
Vuelve, pues, de sus ansias no vencido,
el efecto de un lícito deseo
que sufre osado, si cobarde espera.
Gloriosamente admiración caído
a piélagos de amor en que me veo,
volar inaccesible alas de cera.
