Inexpugnable roca, cuya altura
contrastan mi desdicha y mi tormento;
deidad donde el amor, cobrando aliento,
alimenta mi propia desventura.
De mi estrella fatal violencia pura
en parte puso el libre pensamiento
donde la gloria que penando siento
ni la da ni la quita la ventura.
Y como es bien que sólo en mal consiste
seguro viene a ser independiente,
y otra causa eficaz de mis sentidos;
sólo a la voluntad, que no resiste,
consagra a la razón del mal que siente
suspiros por su causa bien perdidos.
