Sobre este sordo mármol, a tus quejas,
pira ya de aromáticos enojos,
corren líquidos rayos de tus ojos,
perlas que en llanto desatadas dejas.

Donde son sacras ondas las madejas
que dan, muerta su luz, vivos despojos;
florido fruto logran ya de abrojos
o ya del mejor tronco las abejas.

Pues el poder al cielo no limites
en el consuelo tuyo, Nise, en cuanto
las incesables lágrimas no omites,

suspende ya el dolor, enfrena el llanto
lagrimosa beldad, con que permites
que a tanto sol se atreva eclipse tanto.
