Bien podrá parecer, si ahora canto
en triste voz al son de mi partida,
cisne que se despide de la vida,
o vida que jamás despide el llanto.
Deshizo Amor la fuerza de su encanto,
cobré la vista que tenía perdida;
de sinrazones mi razón vencida,
puede más que un amor que pudo tanto.
Poblaré de suspiros los desiertos,
no de quejas, señora, aunque más tenga,
yendo a buscar la muerte que no hallo.
Si al daño vivo, los remedios muertos
la tienen, que el amor me la detenga;
yo la llevo segura en lo que callo.
