- CLXXVII - Definición de la mujer

Es la mujer un mar todo fortuna,
una mudable vela a todo viento;
es cometa de fácil movimiento,
sol en el rostro y en el alma luna.
Fe de enemigo sin lealtad ninguna,
breve descanso e inmortal tormento;
ligera más que el mismo pensamiento,
y de sufrir pesada e importuna.
Es más que un áspid arrogante y fiera;
a su gusto de cera derretida,
y al ajeno más dura que la palma;
es cobre dentro y oro por de fuera,
y es un dulce veneno de la vida
que nos mata sangrándonos el alma.
