A cerúleos caracteres entrega
tus prodigios el mar nunca borrados,
antes de sus impulsos agitados
su volubilidad común les niega.
Bajel de Dios no teme, aunque navega
los senos de Neptuno reservados;
cedan, pues, ya los vientos conspirados
a clara luz de fe noche más ciega.
Sabrá tomar en las borrascas puerto
el que lleva por norte ardiente celo,
en su fe, su esperanza, y Dios por guía
verá desde la tierra el cielo abierto,
o a la tierra hará bajar el cielo:
tanto consigue quien en Dios confía.
