Buscando siempre lo que nunca hallo,
no me puedo sufrir a mí conmigo,
y encubierta la culpa y no el castigo,
me tiene amor, de quien nací vasallo.
Yo sufro y no me atrevo a declarallo,
con ver tan imposible el bien que sigo,
que cuando me condena lo que digo,
no me puedo valer con lo que callo.
Sigo como a dichoso, no lo siendo;
quisiera dar razones y estoy mudo,
y de puro rendido me defiendo.
Del tiempo fío lo que en todo dudo,
y en fin he de mostrar claro muriendo
que en mí el amor más que el agravio pudo.
