Cual matutina lumbre soberano
esplendor concediendo es centelleante,
cual despuntar se vio deidad amante
de la fecunda sal del oceano;
cual virgen rosa que en jardín temprano
de verde cárcel se soltó fragante,
fovente al parto céfiro espirante,
de los grávidos senos del verano;
tal Fénix nueva en sus flamantes plumas
le desmintió crepúsculos al día
que formó sol de viva hermosura,
beldad originando las espumas
de piélagos de gracia a la luz mía
imperceptible siempre, siempre pura.
