- CXXVI -

Huyendo voy las armas y la ira
de la hoz, eco ya de mi tormento,
cuyo tierno rigor, cuyo contento
suspende admiración, alivio admira.
Las flechas suavísimas que tira
peligro son de articulado aliento,
que en la región estableció del viento
corona llama numerosa lira.
Pero mejor podrá prender el fuego,
dispuesta la materia en un rendido
corazón que os entrega sus despojos,
sordo de veros ya, de oíros ciego,
variando peligros el sentido,
siendo rayos la voz, voces los ojos.
