- CLXXXVII - A San Agustín, pintado entre Cristo y la Virgen

No entre Escila y Caribdis viva nave
niega a impulsos australes blanco lino,
entre nortes de luz, si aserto dino,
violencia es dulce, rémora suave.
Neutral piloto amor apenas sabe
uno u otro elegir puerto divino,
de gracia eterna aquél, inmenso y trino,
éste, en que el mismo trino eterno cabe.
Éxtasis, acordado parasismo,
del que pendiente del ambiguo acierto,
más en sí está, saliendo de sí mismo.
Y en dudoso elegir, de acertar cierto,
las suertes menosprecia del abismo,
bajel que entre dos cielos toma puerto.
