Fortuna me condujo peregrino
de un mar en otro mar siempre alterado,
hasta ver de sus iras adulado
el solo efectos de estos tiempos dino.
Hoy con más escarmiento y mejor tino,
al de esta soledad puerto he votado,
errante, aunque confuso, mas no errado,
el progreso y el fin de mi camino.
Aquí me niego al tiempo y no me alcanza
voz que con falsos ecos interprete
el odio contra mí de su venganza.
Donde, si bien perdido, aquí aquiete
sólo en seguir de lejos la esperanza
que todo lo que vemos nos promete.
