- XXXVI -
Virginal templo do el verbo divino
vistió la forma de humanal librea,
a quien anela todo amor benigno,
a quien contempla commo a santa idea,
si de fablar de ti yo no soy digno,
la graçia del tu fijo me provea;
indocto soy e lasso peregrino,
pero mi lengua loarte dessea.
¿Fablaron, por ventura, Johan e Johan,
Jacobo, Pedro tan grand theolugía,
nin el asna podiera de Balán,
sin graçia suya, fablar, nin sabía?
Pues el que puede, fable sin affán
tus alabanças en la lengua mía.
