Porqu'el largo vivir nos es negado,
ínclito rey, tales obras faced
que vuestro nombre sea memorado;
amad la fama e aquélla temed.
Con vulgo alegre, mano e reposado
oíd todos, librad e proved;
fazed que ayades las gentes en grado,
ca ninguno domina sin merçed.
Commo quiera que sea, comendemos
estos dos actos vuestros por derechos,
pues que el principio es çierto e sabemos
en todas cosas ser lo más del fecho;
e reffiriendo graçias os amemos.
