Más te aborrezco yo, pues en el prado
donde nacen tal vez hermosas flores
no introducen espinas ni rigores
como en aquél que abrojos ha llevado.

Los dos somos así, tu pecho airado
campaña ha sido que produjo amores,
y mis desprecios han de ser mayores
que estérilmente fui mármol helado.

Forma no se introduce fácilmente
donde otra alguna vez se ha introducido,
tarde el amor aborrecer consiente.

No quise, aborrecí. Tú me has querido.
Ser tuvo lo que fue y es evidente
que nunca tuvo ser lo que no ha sido.
