¿Qué dichoso a ser viene aquel que huye
del babilón tumulto de la gente,
donde en la soledad está patente
lo que confunde al alma y la destruye!
Aquí el león rugiente sí que arguye
para quien no le entiende agudamente,
mas como siempre arguye falsamente,
con pocos entimemas se concluye.
Retíreme del mundo y su locura,
que aunque es cosa muy santa al matrimonio,
de Lucrecia temí la hermosura;
y el desierto me da por testimonio,
que el huir la ocasión es piedra dura
para quebrar los ojos al demonio.
