Sale a la plaza el toro de Jarama
como furia cruel de los infiernos.
Tiemblan los hombres porque son no eternos,
cual huye, cual en alto se encarama.
Herido el toro, en cólera se inflama.
Mármoles rompe con vidrios tiernos.
Hombres de bulto le echan a los cuernos,
y allí quiebra su furia, bufa y brama.
Soberbia fiera soy, nada perdono;
tres partes derribé de las estrellas
para que al coso de este mundo bajen.
Heridas tengo, y por vengarme de ellas
coger no puedo a Dios, que está en su trono,
y me vengo en el hombre, que es su imagen.
