Si Federico aquesta noche intenta
mostrar la fuerza de su amor gallardo,
con razón dudo, temo y me acobardo
viendo que Julián de mí se ausenta.
Ajeno amor batalla me presenta,
pero con mi valor vencerla aguardo;
ya el cielo se reboza el manto pardo
y en vez de luz la oscuridad ostenta.
De mi casa la puerta cerrar quiero
y prevenirme de arma mi honor piensa;
mas estas armas no serán de acero
sino de no querer hacer ofensa
al santo honor, que con aquesto espero
tener al mismo cielo en mi defensa.
