- XXXVI - Amor habla callando, mata y eterniza

¡Ardo pero mi ardor, qué desventura!
dentro del corazón triste encogido,
(gigante castigado, aun no atrevido)
debajo el nombre de un silencio dura;
de allí en centellas por mi luz oscura
delincuente primer: primer sentido
habla (mudo mi espíritu ofendido)
el colérico fuego que me apura.
Crece la llama, y mi mortal herida
(por aplacar su fuerza) humor le vierte;
crece, y sale en suspiros divertida;
crece mi mal, y con mi mal mi suerte,
que aunque este fuego es muerte de mi vida;
dulce vida le espero de mi muerte.
