- LVII - A una señal cárdena, en el rostro de Fénix

Negro Cometa, que mi blanco cielo,
con negra luz amenazáis mi vida;
si tengo en fuego el alma convertida;
como vuestro color promete hielo.
¡Tened! no más escándalo del suelo,
que esta naturaleza divertida,
y en vuestra dulce confusión perdida,
pues falta al orden de su santo celo.
Pero aunque el orden natural se altera
el alma me abrasáis, quemadme el pecho,
nada quede en mi vida de provecho,
pues por consuelo llevaré aunque muera,
que es más por vos quedar cenizas hecho;
que con mi fuego deshacer la Esfera.
