Áspero corazón, voluntad dura,
de dulce pecho, y alma generosa,
la triste muerte en mí será forzosa
si este vuestro rigor gran tiempo dura.

Pues cuando nace; y muere la verdura:
cuando la noche, y la mañana hermosa
lloró sin descansar, bien poderosa
causa es mi loco amor, y mi ventura;

Con todo vivo a la esperanza asido,
viendo, que poco humos, continuamente,
si cal, un mármol gasta endurecido,

y así a ti (en nada al mármol diferente)
te gastará mi llanto, y mi gemido
podrá rendirte voluntad valiente.
