Si contra mí tus soles celestiales
vuelves, en rayos de su luz me quemo;
no basta el mar de lágrimas, que remo,
para templar sus llamas desiguales;
si intentas con piedad sanar mis males,
¡no menos ay! que tu rigor la temo;
que son en mí los golpes de tu extremo
(por miedo o por razón) mortales.
Del primer llanto, al último suspiro
(en quien estoy) mi corazón maltrata
con mil llagas amor de sólo un tiro.
Cúrame Fénix tú, cúrame ingrata,
que no es difícil, pues que no respiro,
y es la cura mejor la que me mata.
