- LXX - Fénix cabello suelto, fortuna de amor

Esta que libre al regalado viento,
la madeja derrama de oro hermosa:
sin duda que es fortuna poderosa;
pues da bienes, y quita en un momento.
No es la que el oro con poder violento
distribuye avarienta, y generosa;
mas hace al alma pobre, o venturosa
del tesoro de amor su libre intento.
Ciega no es ya, mas para mí escondidas
las luces trae, que forma mis enojos,
y se finge sin vista a mis heridas.
Ay quien dude en la rueda, y los despojos;
despojos son, las almas ya rendidas;
la rueda son, los giros de sus ojos.
